The definition of labeling on wire and the issues of application

Wire 125V 7A 85°C can be used at electrical products that voltage is below 125V ( volts ), current below 7A (amps), surrounding temperature within 85°C. It can also be said that electrical products of voltage 125V 875W ( watts ), ( 125*7=875 ) 220V has exceed the wire withstand limit of 125V, therefore not recommended to use. It is recommended to use a wire that withstand above 220V and above 9A ( consider the safety factor is approximately 1.25 times of 7A ) or above 200V 1500W ( 1.25 times of 1200W ). Briefly, withstand higher voltage and current or the higher the wattage, more secure it is.
